I look forward to the book, but I must say that I am saddened to see Dalrymple writing for Patrick Buchanan’s American Conservative. Buchanan is a well known anti-Semite who has allied himself with proto-fascists such as Jean-Marie Le Pen and the far-right Flemish party, Vlaams Belang. I can only assume that Mr.Dalrymple is unaware of Patrick Buchanan’s associations with the extreme right.

My comment was meant to be connected to the previous, Suicide of the West, post which links to Buchanan’s magazine. Nevertheless, if your point is that Buchanan is more of an extremist than a conservative, I agree, although my suspicion is that you were simply trying to be sarcastic, in which case I’m not sure what your point is.
No sarcasm intended. I fully meant what I said. Specifically, he seems to have an unusual (or perhaps far too usual) antipathy toward Israel.
