In the April edition of New English Review, our ornithologically inclined doctor considers the merits of the cuckoo while lamenting its predicted decline.

Censorship in the name of civility ends in its opposite. Civility, like tolerance, is a habit of the heart, and attempts at imposing it expunges it from the very place it ought to be.
